Sabine Egerer is a member of GERICS since July 2018, where she works within the ‚Integrative Modelling Lab‘ project in cooperation with the University Hamburg on the developments of adaption strategies to climate change in the agricultural sector in Greater Hamburg. Therefore, they use integrative models, which are build in dialog with stakeholders from various sectors. The project also invloves the methodological advancement of such participarty processes.
Sabine studied technical mathematics at Dresden University of Technology with a major in numerical simulation and fluid dynamics. She did her PhD at the Max Planck Institute for Meteorology in Hamburg in climate modelling. Using a physical Earth System Model, she analyzed the dynamic interaction between dust transport, vegetation and climate in North Africa on a time scale of several thousand years.
