Dr. Christine Nam is a Senior Scientist at GERICS whose work focuses fostering collaborations among scientists to develop and streamline a workflow that will allow for the identification extreme precipitation events within regional climate projections, to be used by engineers and hydrologists, with the help of colleagues in Geoinformatics.

Christine has an interdisciplinary background, having earned a Doctorate of Atmospheric Sciences at the Max-Planck-Institute for Meteorology, in addition to two Masters Degrees, in Atmospheric Sciences and Space Studies, and a Bachelors Degree in Mathematics.

Christine's diverse research interests culminated in the application of lidar and radar satellite data to improve the representation of clouds in large-scale climate models; particularly focusing on the origin of cloud radiative biases and understanding how these biases influence the evolution of clouds - a vital aspect in climate projections.
