Bodo Alexander Voigt started as a research assistant at GERICS in November 2018. He is part of the Helmholtz Institute Climate Service Science (HICSS) and works there in collaboration with the working group of Prof. Dr. Heinke Schlünzen from the Meteorological Institute of the University of Hamburg on the project "Detailed influences of winter climate change in Hamburg's urban climate". In particular, as a scientific programmer, he is working on the parallelisation of the high-resolution microscale model MITRAS, which is being developed at the Meteorological Institute.
Before starting his work at GERICS and at the Meteorological Institute, he studied chemistry at the University of Hamburg. During his bachelor thesis in physical chemistry, he dealt with the optical properties of individual nanoparticles, which he studied with confocal microscopy. For his master's and doctoral thesis he switched to theoretical chemistry, where he dealt with diradical systems and their description with density functional theory methods.
