Leon Scheiber has been working in the URBANLINE project since January 2025, which is investigating the potential of microscale climate modelling and participatory processes for the provision of climate services to plan sustainable adaptation measures to urban heat within the framework of the Helmholtz Institute for Climate Service Science (HICSS) together with the University of Hamburg. He is primarily responsible for the development of an integrated vulnerability assessment for the city of Constance and the promotion of interdisciplinary cooperation within the project team and transdisciplinary cooperation with urban stakeholders.
After vocational training in Switzerland, Leon studied ‘Civil Engineering’ in Trier and ‘Water, Environmental and Coastal Engineering’ in Hanover. He then worked as a research assistant and chair assistant at the Leibniz University of Hanover, during which time he supervised two industrial projects and a research project on flooding. His doctoral thesis, written at the Ludwig-Franzius-Institut, deals with the assessment of flood risks and adaptation options in the Vietnamese metropolis of Ho Chi Minh City.
